[Los Angeles] Public Reading Group on “Rosa Luxemburg, Women’s Liberation, and Marx’s Philosophy of Revolution”

Continuing on Sunday, April 4, 2021 6-8:00 PM, Los Angeles Time

This session will take up chapter 9, “Marx Discovers a New Continent of Thought and of Revolution” from Raya Dunayevskaya’s classic book, “Rosa Luxemburg, Women’s Liberation, and Marx’s Philosophy of Revolution”. We will be discussing the first section of the chapter, “A Preliminary Note on the Dialectic” (pp. 115-122). These pages critique the ways in which Lenin and Luxemburg took up the dialectic, in contrast to Marx’s own revolutionary humanist dialectic.

With introductory remarks by Sushanta Roy, sociology grad student
