Chicago Is Iran Moving Toward a Real Revolution?

A spontaneous series of demonstrations have recently broken out in 80 Iranian cities against unemployment, poverty, and theocratic dictatorship. Does the defiance of many woman, who are openly protesting male domination, and the participation of rank-and-file workers, who are attacking Iran’s decaying economy, signal a renewal of hope for a new society? Might the struggle there impact freedom struggles in other lands, including our own?

Trump’s Iran ‘policy’, no matter what he says about the protests, is counter-revolutionary, and of a piece with his foreign and domestic fascistic  ‘nationalistic’ agenda. This open discussion will seek to grasp the meaning of these events for those opposing all forms of capitalism-imperialism.

Our discussion will take off from an eyewitness report by an activist inside Iran. See https://imhojournal.org/articles/iran-moving-toward-real-revolution
