I appreciated the emphasis on overcoming the current mindset of bourgeois right in the different attempts at the reformation of capitalism. The IMHO doesn’t deny that any effort to mitigate the ravages of capitalism, e.g. anti-war activism, community co-opts like “Mondragon”, boycotting Wal-Mart, etc. are welcome. In the end though, Progressives and most leftists do not want to want to discuss the genuine elimination of capitalism. The Progressive and leftists measures to reform capitalism are becoming more radical, but as Marilyn pointed out, workers still would not have the freedom of thought and expression in the work place, which as Peter reminded us will only come with the elimination of capitalist value production. Another point raised by Peter is the ecological destruction of the planet if we don’t eliminate value production.
