Trump’s February ambush/confrontation with Ukraine’s President Zelensky illustrates the ongoing realignment among the world’s imperialist powers and entities, from the US and Russia to the European Union and beyond. Is this as great a realignment as Nixon-Kissinger’s outreach to Mao’s China in 1971-72 that betrayed Vietnam and lengthened the imperialist war, or even the Hitler-Stalin Pact of 1939 that led to the repartition of Poland and the horrors of World War II? How do we assess the present realignment? How could it affect other regions, from Palestine and the Middle East to Latin America, as well as the anti-fascist struggle inside the US against Trumpism 2.0? How does this realignment impact those parts of the Left still mired in a type of campism that refuses to recognize that there are multiple centers of imperialism, and, more specifically, that occupation is a crime, from Ukraine to Palestine?
