Amid the lengthening shadows extending across the USA from the Trump regime and big capital, resistance and liberation sentiment is also growing, from the immigrant rights protests that have put ICE on the back foot in so many cities and towns, to the electoral victories of “democratic socialist” candidates. Los Angeles and New York have been particular foci of this resistance, alongside many other cities and towns across the land. This meeting will feature activists reflecting on these struggles and mapping where to go from here.

Speakers:

Vidy Oviyan, community organizer and photographer building systems of support and defense in the face of state violence.

“No Heros: LA vs. ICE, Colonized Bodies Organizing Against the Ongoing Violence of the US Colonial Project”

“Border politics, Black liberation and Movement under Fascism”

Andrès Mares Muro, Chicano/Indigenous Marxist activist—from the United Farm Workers to the Zohran Mamdani Challenge
