Los Angeles Book Launch – A Revolutionary Subject: Women of Color and Indigeneity + a Brief Discussion of Iran

Meeting will begin with brief informal discussion of the recent uprising in Iran, led by Ali Kiani, author of the article, “A New, Deeper Uprising in Iran” See also Kevork Sassouni’s polemical article “Letter Against US Imperialism” Damages Left by Supporting Iranian Regime Against a Popular Uprising.

Speaker: Lilia Monzo, author of A REVOLUTIONARY SUBJECT: PEDAGOGY OF WOMEN OF COLOR AND INDIGENEITY

Lilia Monzo’s new book, A REVOLUTIONARY SUBJECT: PEDAGOGY OF WOMEN OF COLOR AND INDIGENEITY, is a call to radical thinkers, grassroots organizers, and others on the left to recognize the enormous historical legacy of and potential for revolutionary praxis that exists among Women of Color and Indigenous women. The book revitalizes Marx’s dialectics to challenge class-reductionism, highlighting a class struggle that is also necessarily anti-racist, anti-sexist, and against all forms of oppression.

Copies of the book will be available for signing, at a reduced price.

Suggested reading: Monzo’s summary article, “Women of Color and Indigeneity: A Revolutionary Subject”
